The grand total as of today (with some still making it's way to her via snail mail...) is approximately $400 of the $500 originally needed - woohoo! Thank you all SO much! We are close enough now that I think I can cover the rest of it, but just in case anyone else still wants to help out, you can either send whatever yo want to through the mail (...I wouldn't recommend more than a single dollar or two if it's cash...) to:

As many of you know, Chas never in a million years ever expected this to even be a possibility, so without YOUR generosity (and some meddling on my part and that of *Roxanne74...) this would NOT have been possible! We WILL get her moved back with her daughter!

And, as I mentioned previously, trying to get her to move by Christmas was really MY idea... would loved to have seen her reunited with her daughter by then, but alas, apparently it isn't meant to be - at least, not that quick. Chas has some doctor's appointments and treatments already scheduled for mid December, as well as a surgery, I think, so it looks like January might be the soonest she can get there But, considering that she didn't think she would EVER have the money to move, January is a whole lot sooner than NEVER, so it'll have to do

I also wanted to share something else with you today. As many of you also know, I send out cookies for 's here, and occasionally get some very surprised responses back from people who were just really caught off guard by the unexpected sugar in their inbox But this time I was actually the one surprised by the response I got back from ~scottsummers after delivering a cookie to his account: a poem!

Wandering and siteseeing
with no specific goal
moved only by the accident

But in a foreign town
a place unknown before
a girl offering cookies

The lady was so gorgeus,
the cookies smelled so good
to left my random path

I followed her to home
curious and fascinated

Wasn't that sweet? Many of you have written me poems and dedicated images and such - and I am SO grateful for them! But this one was something in a Comment, so I couldn't share it any other way
