To all of my dA friends and fans: DON'T PANIC! No, I have not been abducted by aliens and replaced, as you were no doubt thinking when you saw this very non-Faerie submission from me. Nope, no pointy ears, no Elven maidens - not even a pair of wings or fantastical critter in sight this time. But never fear, I won't let this happen often (or maybe ever again - lol!)... just a little too far outside my comfort zone to dwell here for TOO long!
I came across a contest about "facing your fears" [link] and thought it sounded like fun. While there are certainly real things in this messed-up world of ours to be truly concerned about, I opted to address one of the myriad quirky phobias of mine instead.
I had intended to title it simply "Photophobia," only to learn that said malady is a "fear of light," and not just cameras as I had hoped. And, as I have no trouble with light, per se, but serious qualms about cameras pointing at me (not just Minoltas, of course... that would just be silly!), I had to improvise. Also wasn't sure where to put it - for me this should go under "Horror," but no one likely feels that way about having their picture taken.
You are such a funny guy - didn't you read the description? I hate having my picture taken! (And believe me, that sure made it difficult to put a wedding album together all those years ago...)
A few... and they almost all look like the ones in this manip. And of those rare few that did manage to catch a truly candid, unobstructed photo... well, let's just say they won't do that again any time soon! (Aww, who am I kidding - I'm so NOT intimidating, even if I try - haha!)
Why not face your fear with using your own photos? Maybe another project perhaps? Not that I'm complaining, since this entry rocks and you did use my stock. . .
Ahh, but I so enjoy using all the wonderful stock that's available! And I'm saving all my "immersion therapy" for more worthwhile phobias, I guess... there are bigger things worth getting over than being anti-camera (like the possibility of a "world chocolate shortage," for example )
Thanks again for the great stock images you've got in your gallery!
