Hello again, all!

”Having foolishly tampered with the Gates that had held the denizens of the Underworld at bay since the dawning of Time, the age of Man now came hurtling toward its inevitable end. Cataclysmic destruction had all but unraveled the earth - proverbial famines and floods, pestilence and earthquakes... and death. As the Mage stood there, appearing to be calmly assured yet tragically alone in the despair of his folly, he dared now to summon the forbidden Old Magic – for better or worse – though how much worse could it possibly get, he wondered…”

Well, here it is, with just a few days before the deadline... Wasn't sure I'd make it with this one, but the absolutely overwhelming cache of prizes being offered for this contest was too good not to at least give it a try! And I know the little storyline above is just dripping with worn out clichés, but I can’t help it – I love ‘em all anyway!

I would like to dedicate this image to and for being two of the sweetest friends in the world!

I hope you all like this one! I’m not holding my breath for the contest, but I do have a fresh batch of cookies ready and waiting for anyone who’s feeling peckish!...

I'm not sure if this is really dark enough for this contest - the whole "darkness" genre just doesn't come very naturally to me, I guess (too many fairy tea parties with little pink and yellow cookies, I suppose...) And I must not be feeling well: no pointy ears!

Oh, wait, the little demon thingies have some. Phew! Okay, I'm good... I was worried there for a second.
